Manual chapter

Vehicles

Manage owned, shared, active, and archived vehicles while keeping history organized.

Adding Vehicles

Use Add Vehicle to create a vehicle profile. Vehicle profiles connect fuel logs, maintenance, records, analytics, sync ownership, and exports.

Editing Vehicles

Owners can edit metadata such as nickname, year, make, model, VIN, odometer, insurance details, oil type, notes, icon, and photo. Members of shared vehicles can contribute activity if permitted, but core vehicle metadata remains owner-controlled.

Archived Vehicles

Archiving removes a vehicle from active entry pickers and new workflows while preserving fuel logs, records, service history, analytics history, and attachments. Restore is available when allowed by ownership and free/pro vehicle rules.

Vehicle Ownership

Vehicles can be owned, shared by me, or shared with me. Owners edit core details and manage sharing. Members add logs and records when permissions allow.

Shared Vehicles

Shared vehicles appear with ownership labels and owner summaries. If a shared vehicle becomes unavailable or access is revoked, diagnostics show the share state and recovery options where possible.

Default Vehicle Behavior

Pro users can choose a default vehicle for new entries. Free users choose one usable owned active vehicle. New entries fall back to the last used or first active vehicle when no default is set.
