What you can track
- Fill-up date, odometer reading, fuel amount, total cost, and price per unit
- Calculated MPG and historical fuel economy trends
- Fuel grade, station, payment method, tags, notes, and optional location details
- Fuel, maintenance, tolls, repairs, and other vehicle costs in one record system
- One or multiple vehicles, with advanced comparisons available in Pro
What information do you need to calculate MPG?
The basic calculation is miles driven ÷ gallons used = MPG. For a useful fill-up calculation, record the odometer reading and the amount of fuel added. If you use liters and kilometers, Fuel Warrior can work with those units and present the matching fuel-economy measure.
Why full fill-ups are usually more useful
A full tank gives you a clearer link between the distance since the previous fill-up and the fuel used. Partial fills can still be logged, but the resulting MPG may be less representative unless the app has enough context to account for the partial fill.
Use the history to learn from your driving
Review your historical MPG to notice seasonal changes, tire or maintenance effects, highway-versus-city patterns, or a gradual change that deserves attention. Fuel Warrior helps you keep the underlying entries so the trend is explainable, not just a single number.
Gas mileage tracker questions
How do I track my gas mileage?
Log each fill-up with the date, odometer reading, fuel amount, and total cost. Fuel Warrior calculates MPG when the entries contain enough information and keeps the history by vehicle.
How is MPG calculated?
MPG is miles driven divided by gallons used. The distance comes from the change in odometer readings between fuel entries.
What's the easiest way to track fuel economy?
Use a consistent fuel log and record the odometer at every fill-up. A dedicated MPG tracker such as Fuel Warrior keeps the calculation and history together.
Can I track more than one vehicle?
Yes. Free use supports one owned active vehicle for new entries. Fuel Warrior Pro unlocks unlimited owned active vehicles and vehicle comparisons.
Can I track maintenance along with MPG?
Yes. Fuel Warrior combines fuel logs with maintenance records, vehicle expenses, reminders, and service history.
